The UEFA Europa League 2018 football final will take place on Wednesday 16th of May 2018 (at 20:45 LT) at the Lyon’s Groupama Stadium. DGAC issued an order to extend the period of coordination for LYS airport to cover the whole night following the match. DGAC also notified COHOR, the appointed coordinator of LYS airport, the coordination parameters for this event.
The coordination period will start from May 16th, 2018 06:00am local time until May 17th, 2018 06:00am local time. Coordination parameters during this specific period are available on COHOR website: www.cohor.org.
In order to maintain the usual traffic at the airport and manage the additional planned traffic specific to the match, COHOR asks all airlines to follow the procedure below:
1 Requests of slots for flights specific to UEFA Europa League 2018
1.1 Use of Specific Service Type Code (STC)
All slot requests for flights specific to UEFA Europa League final must be sent using turnaround format.
In order to identify requests specific for the Europa League 2018 among all other requests, operators must use the specific following service type codes for these flights:
– Use of service type code “O” for any flight with passengers;
– Use of service type code “P” for any positioning flight;
– Use of any combination O-O, O-P, P-O for the turnaround format.
Service type code “O” shall be used only for flights specific for the Europa League Final 2018.
1.2 Flights carrying teams
For flights carrying teams (or the associated positioning), the aircraft operator shall use service type code “O” (or “P”) and add the following SI (Supplementary Information) in its request:
TEAM-EUROPALEAGUE
NOTA: Since no SI are possible on e-Airportslots.aero these flights requests can only be made via SCR.
The list of flights carrying teams will be cross-checked with UEFA.
1.3 Flights carrying referees
For flights carrying referees (or the associated positioning), the aircraft operator shall use service type code “O” or “P” and add the following SI (Supplementary Information) in its request:
REFEREE-EUROPALEAGUE
NOTA: Since no SI are possible on e-Airportslots.aero these flights requests can only be made via SCR.
The list of flights carrying referees will be cross-checked with UEFA.
2 Handling of requests for series of slots (regular flights) during UEFA Europa League 2018
Requests for series of slots will be processed as usual by the coordinator.
3 Handling of requests for ad hoc flights during UEFA Europa League 2018
All ad hoc flights that intend to operate on LYS airport from 16th of May, 2018 06:00am to 17th of May, 2018 06:00am local time will be held on the waiting list until May 9th, 2018. Until this date, acknowledgments will be sent by COHOR (Pending messages). Confirmations will be sent by COHOR from May 09th, 2018. The waiting list will be processed following the priority rules below:
1 Extension of series for scheduled flight services or programmed non-scheduled flight services (95/93 regulation art 8.3)
2 Flights with football teams or referees including their associated positioning
3 Specific flights for the l’UEFA Europa League other than general and business aviation flights
4 Flights for other programmed scheduled and non-scheduled services
5 General and business aviation flights and all other flights subject to coordination
